The world is getting smaller, more interconnected. Today’s problems are increasingly global in scope and tomorrow’s problem solvers will need to be equipped with knowledge, skills and attitudes which will allow them to thrive amidst cultures different from their own. Duke University is committed to ensuring students leave Duke with all the tools necessary for success in a global world. To that end, Duke has a wonderful variety of experiential, academic and co-curricular offerings to engage in cross-cultural, civic and global inquiry, so many offerings, in fact, that it can be difficult to choose.
We will work with you as you explore the myriad options before you. Want to experience another culture, engage deeply with a community or tackle a global issue abroad? In the U.S.? Inside a Duke classroom? In the Durham community? Have no idea what you want to do? Need help fitting something else into your already-packed schedule? Are you returning from an experience away from campus or have just completed a local program and want to integrate your new perspective with your studies?
We meet one-on-one with any undergraduate student – Pratt or Trinity, declared or undeclared – to help you explore the options before you, reflect on the experiences behind you and integrate all your classes, activities and experiences into your Duke education. We want to meet with you many times during your Duke career to advise you as your interests change and deepen. We are your human portal to a world of opportunity at Duke. We help create global citizens. We are Global Advisors.
